A journey led by two dealers bringing no-till farming practices and agricultural equipment to Alaska marks an exciting milestone for SurePoint Ag Systems. As part of the project, a QuickDraw Lite system outfitted on an AlaskaAgro trailer brings QuickDraw one step closer to reaching all 50 states.

According to Quality Drills, the project aims to bring the first John Deere no-till drill into Alaska as producers look to reduce weed pressure, enter fields earlier in the season, and begin adopting more regenerative farming practices. Producers in Alaska face much different conditions than many traditional row crop regions, including an extremely short growing season and the challenge of transporting large-scale equipment thousands of miles north. After the operation’s original equipment deal fell through, the team connected with Quality Drills to source replacement machines, eventually mobilizing the delivery of two John Deere drills across more than 6,000 miles through the northern United States, Canada, and the Yukon Territories.

As part of the journey, air seeders sourced through Quality Drills and supporting technologies like QuickDraw are traveling north in a convoy being documented through social media and online updates.

As shared by Quality Drills, the Alaska operation summed up the challenge of farming in the region with one statement:

“Farming in Alaska is like farming on the moon. You have what you brought with you, bring 2, if you have one, you have none.”

The trip will ultimately conclude with a growers’ clinic, creating an opportunity for producers and industry partners to connect, share ideas, and discuss the future of agriculture in Alaska.

The QuickDraw Lite system traveling with the AlaskaAgro trailer will help simplify chemical mixing and loading throughout the operation. In an environment where timing and productivity can be especially important during the short growing season, having a streamlined system in place can make a major difference.

QuickDraw automates the mixing and loading process by calculating precise product amounts based on application rates and acreage, helping reduce manual measuring and improve consistency from batch to batch. As modern farming practices continue expanding into new regions, systems like QuickDraw help support growers with practical, reliable technology.

While the Alaska project itself represents a unique step forward in modern agriculture, it also marks an exciting milestone for SurePoint Ag Systems. With the addition of the QuickDraw Lite system heading to Alaska, QuickDraw continues to expand its reach from coast to coast and internationally while becoming part of a project bringing no-till farming practices to the Last Frontier. The project highlights how modern agriculture tools provide value across a wide range of crops, regions, and growing conditions.

As the journey to Alaska continues, updates and coverage of the project can be followed through Quality Drills and AlaskaAgro. To learn more about QuickDraw and SurePoint Ag Systems’ automated mixing and loading technology, visit www.surepointag.com/quickdraw.
