Jim Keller

Jim Keller works at SurePoint Ag as the Lead Mechanical Engineer. He attended Kansas State University and obtained his degree in civil engineering before entering the Air Force. He was then a Civil Engineering Officer, with a couple of trips to the desert, before leaving the Air Force and going on to earn his master’s degree in aerospace engineering from MIT. Post-master’s graduation, he worked at Lockheed Martin for six years and then worked in Denver and Houston as a Structural Engineer and Systems Engineer, working on spacecraft, rockets, and satellites. He continued his work experience at ZAP Engineering in Denver, an Oil and Gas Engineering Consulting Firm, where he worked for over 9 years as a project manager. He’s thankful that SurePoint provided the opportunity to move his family back to rural Kansas, a long-time goal of his. He appreciates the fact that SurePoint lives its Core Values.

Jim grew up on a small farm in St. Francis and often helped out at his dad’s veterinary clinic. He and his wife, Melissa, now live in St. Francis and will soon be living on the farm Jim grew up on. They have 3 boys, Dillon, Will, and Isaac. He enjoys following his boys around to their various activities, playing drums, and singing bluegrass. You can also find him singing in his church’s choir, snow skiing, hiking, cooking, and working around the house and farm. He coaches kids wrestling and loves listening to audiobooks and traveling. The perfect day would include watching the KSU football team (GO CATS!) and sampling various beers and bourbons.
